Meta Platforms (META) is negotiating a potential investment exceeding $10 billion in Scale AI, a data-labeling specialist pivotal to training AI models. The deal, if finalized, WOULD mark Meta's largest external funding commitment and rank among the most significant private-sector AI investments to date.

Scale AI's valuation could approach $25 billion following this round, building on its $13.8 billion valuation from a prior funding round that included Meta, Nvidia, and Amazon. The startup generated $870 million revenue in 2024, capitalizing on the generative AI boom since its 2016 founding by Alexandr Wang.
